Calling ourselves "Americans for Peace," we
gathered at a park downtown and walked up the street to
the Federal Building. When we arrived, we attempted to
deliver a petition addressed to Mr. Bush calling for
"restraint." Of course, we were not allowed
anywhere near the door, and
none of the security officers would agree to receive the
petitions. Wil placed them on the ground. Sgt. Stedanko
(with apologies to Cheech & Chong) made little
ceremony of picking up the papers, folding them, and
filing them directly into the trash.
