Temple Terrace, FL 33637 STRATEGY Our strategy with this campaign is to make a concerted effort to influence the vote on Amendment #2 across the state in general through dissemination of information through the news media, communities of faith, and by individuals meeting voters one on one. The Campaign has been slowly and steadily marshalling resources in order to develop campaigning materials such as leaflets, bumperstickers and yard signs which are being provided to activists throughout the state. Because ours is not a campaign funded by big business and wealthy individuals seeking to buy candidates and their votes, we must think tactically and strategically. In addition to providing resources to activists across the state and making the truth about Amendment #2 available through our web site and our 800 number, we have also determined a local focus. The local focus of campaigning efforts is in the Tampa/St. Pete area and in House District 60 (Temple Terrace area) in particular. This is because District 60 is that of Representative Victor Crist, the author of Amendment #2. (Victor Crist should not to be confused with his brother, U.S. Senate Candidate Charlie Crist.) Whatever happens on Amendment #2 statewide, we know that we can defeat it or at least make a sizable dent in the "yes" vote within our target district. We expect to use these results to send a clear message to the Florida Legislature that when the voters are educated, they will not be fooled. The Vote NO On Amendment #2 Campaign is an independant project of the Florida Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (FCADP). It is designed and coordinated by Citizens United for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (CUADP) and receives support from concerned citizens and citizens groups.
