LATEST CUADP APPEAL AND PREMIUMS
18 September 2003
Greetings All,
Yep. It's that time again....
Cut to the chase at www.compar.com/donation/donateform.html
Last month CUADP set a goal to raise at least $5,000, with the idea of
paying bills due, and getting ahead a little bit for September. We ended
up with about $3,000 for the month - $2,000 short of the goal.
The goal for September is $7,000. This amount will help pay bills past
due, bills due now, and also for upcoming programming. What's upcoming?
* The Ohio Journey of Hope ...From Violence to Healing - 17 days on the
road, educating for alternatives to the death penalty. See
http://www.journeyofhope.org/Ohio/ for the details and join us in Ohio if
you are able. CUADP will be coordinating media outreach for the Ohio
Journey, and handling numerous other leadership tasks as needed - all on a
volunteer basis, of course. CUADP expects to incur at least $500 in
expenses to participate in this event.
* The Ohio Journey will be followed by the National Coalition to Abolish
the Death Penalty annual conference in Nashville,
TN. For the first time ever at that conference, CUADP director Abe
Bonowitz has been asked to speak to the entire gathering. Travel and
related expenses for that event will come to about $500.
* Following the NCADP conference, CUADP/FADP director Abe Bonowitz will hit
the road with Florida death row survivor Juan Melendez for another speaking
tour through Florida - From October 20 - 30. Estimated costs: $2,000,
including honoraria for Juan.
What are the bills past due? There are the costs of doing business -
phone, travel, internet, credit cards and other loans for past
actions. And specifically, FADP spent more than $600 reacting to the
recent Paul Hill extermination/martyrdom, and incurred $500 in unexpected
car repair bills. If you want to see the full list of bills due, etc.,
feel free to drop me a note at abe@cuadp.org.
